Thanksgiving Trip to Cali

A few years back we made the decision to travel to Santa Barbara to have Thanksgiving with Mom and David every other year. This year we made it even more interesting by taking the Camper for a road trip. We planned to stop for a quick peek at the Redwoods and a stop at the Golden Gate bridge, too.

We also stopped over in Monterey and Carmel very briefly – it was all sorta like a Turbo Tourist Trip! ;) Kurt was looking for a particular shop in Carmel that a friend of his had told him about. After we found it we hit the road again.

Our final destination was Santa Barbara. We had about 4 or 5 days there including Turkey Day, Black Friday, a tour of the Mission and a even mini Reunion with some college friends.

On the way home we stopped for lunch with Dad and Joan in Grants Pass, Oregon and got to see their new home. All of it was over much too quickly, but we had the best time and are so glad we went! Can’t wait until 2012! :)

Time for the Holiday Season Already?!

I can hardly believe that it is December of 2010. The second half of this year has gone by so fast. I haven't uploaded any photos after summer. Making matters worse, my camera was broken early in the fall time and the only pictures I've been able to take lately have been with my phone and the quality of those photos are not very good at all. Kind of a bummer since this is a photo blog. :(

I'm thinking a good new year's resolution would be to get back to updating my blog on a regular basis. I really do enjoy looking back through it from time to time and hope that all of you enjoy keeping up with what we are doing in any given season. Please don't give up on me. :) In fact feel free to ask for updates, I could use the reminder!

We just had a nice trip to see my Mom and David in Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving ( see a few pictures from the road trip below) and we are enjoying our Christmas season so far! I do hope we will be able to post some more photos soon of all we have been doing. The girls have a concert next week so maybe I'll start with that.

Merry Christmas and I hope you have had a wonderful year in 2010. :)

Summer of Fun

I am so terribly behind on this blog. I am going to attempt to add a bunch of pictures from the summer and then later on I will go back a little at a time and fill in details month by month. I’m hoping by doing it this way I will not feel so overwhelmed at the task of getting up to date. Watch for more recent stuff to be more detailed out soon.

Thanks for even taking the time to check the blog. I hope you enjoy seeing the pictures.

Band Concert & Talent Show

Ashley had her last Band concert of the year on June 2nd. We were so proud of her, most especially for all of her hard work and dedication all year, getting up early three days a week and going to Jazz Band practice. They sounded great and they all looked like they had a great time, too.

Ashley is in the front row, near the center. (You can’t really see her though, ‘cause she’s behind someone else.) She was even privileged enough to be the one to tune the Jazz Band this time. :)
It was really cute, they all wore aviator sunglasses while they played Mission Impossible. Below is a little video clip from the performance.

The day after the band concert, Lauren had her talent show at school. She sang part of the song Crazier by Taylor Swift with her friend Sydni. I was very proud of them. Their voices sounded great and I thought they were so brave to get up in front of everyone and sing. They even did a little choreography, too!

Waiting in line for the show to start with Kacey, Sammy and Sydni.

Below is the video of Lauren and Syndi’s song.

I’m so proud of our girls. They are not afraid to perform and have a good amount of confidence. Well done girls!
